We
did a drive to Tours
in May 2006 to visit with Jean François and Denise Mincet and to
do a photo shoot and to assess whether we wanted to go ahead and engage
Jean François to do portraits of the children. After looking at samples
of his work, we were very excited to agree and to move the project forward.
It was a spectacular day, and Jean François and Denise were super hosts
as we relaxed at their house and ate some extremely tasty sweets after
the photo shoot. |

We received Katie's finished portrait and we extremely pleased with it and enthusiastically requested Jean François to move ahead with the other portraits. Based upon the sketches of Andreas we were very keen to see his finished portrait as well, though upon seeing it we noticed some differences between the sketch and the finished oil painting and after Jean François and Denise came by in December to drop it off we discussed some minor alterations which Jean François agreed to do. We are now looking forward to receiving the final copy in the Spring of 2006 Meanwhile, in early January 2007, Kevin and Kate went to Delf in Paris to select frames for the portraits and are very excited about how they will all look. |
