Nick was born in the Polyclinique de la Forêt in Fontainebleau on June 20, 1993. On the 19th, we watched the Bulls in an NBA semi-final game before doing a little shopping before Kristen went into labor in the evening. We packed up and headed for the Polyclinique late in the evening, and after an eventless labor, Nick was born at 3h22 in the morning. At birth, he weighed 3.26kg and was 49cm long. Below he is a day old stretching and then in his Daddy's arms taking the sugar-water.

Soon after leaving the Polyclinique Nick took a trip to U.S./Canada to visit his family there.

Nick spent 6 days on an IV in the Crittenton Hospital in Rochester Hills with a urinary tract infection. He was such as sweet, sweet little guy and was such a trooper. That was at the very end of our trip (entered on Aug. 24, just days before we were due to return and we had to change our return flights).

After the quick trip to the US/Canada Nick returned to France and his comfortable home in Hericy near Fontainebleau. In the picture to the right he is seen hugging his crazy cow which was a permanent attachment during his first 8-9 months.
